Wiki · Survive the Outbreak

Custom Gear

Beyond the medical kit and building supplies, the revamp adds a set of signature custom items — a mummy stealth wrap, a military disguise, a flare that raises the dead, the keys that crack the big heists, and the valuables everyone's fighting over. Most are earned from schematics or rare loot.

Custom Gear

These are the items that don't fit anywhere else — the toys and trophies of the survival wipe. Click any icon for its full details, where it comes from, and what it does.

The everyday custom items live on their own pages: healing kit on Infection & Medical, building supplies on Base Progression, and the Distress Radio on Distress Events. This page is for the rest.

Disguises & Stealth

Two ways to move through a hostile world without a fight — one for the infected, one for the soldiers.

Rotwalker ShroudUltra Rare stealth suit
  • Rotwalker Shroud — an Ultra Rare mummy-wrap suit. Wear it and walk upright past the infected almost unseen — they only spot you at very close range. Sprinting or firing a gun blows it for a few seconds. It's an Ultra Rare schematic (3 pieces).
  • Stolen Fatigues — a looted military uniform. Wear it and configured soldier patrols ignore you — walk right through a military monument. Attack a soldier or fire a shot within ~45m and your cover is blown for four minutes (and relogging won't reset it). Bank-heist responders always see through it. Earned from a Mythic schematic (6 pieces).
Stealth, not invisibilityBoth suits fool one kind of enemy and one only. The Shroud hides you from infected; the Fatigues hide you from soldiers. Neither does a thing against other players — and their eyes still work up close.

Zombie Tools

Thrown items that bend the infected to your will — summon them onto an enemy, or lure them off your back.

Grave CallerSummons a pack
NoisemakerLures infected away
  • Grave Caller — a thrown flare that erupts 4–6 Walkers out of the ground where it lands, and they swarm the nearest player. Throw it into a rival's fight and let the dead do the work. A Tier-2 (purple) schematic grants three.
  • Makeshift Noisemaker — a thrown lure that pulls nearby infected toward the noise and holds them there, so you can slip past or thin a monument before you move in.

Combat Tools

The rarest offensive gear on the island — two thrown weapons that break the usual rules of a fight, and a companion that fights for you. All three are redeemed from high-tier schematics.

EMP ChargeKills base defences
Artillery Strike DesignatorAnti-personnel barrage
Loyal WolfA companion that fights
  • EMP Charge — an Ultra Rare thrown charge. Toss it near a base and every turret, SAM site and trap nearby powers down for 15 seconds — breach before it comes back online. It's the counter to a compound bristling with auto-turrets.
  • Artillery Strike Designator — a Mythic schematic grants 2–3. Zoom in through one and press Q to mark a blast zone; after a 6-second siren, an artillery barrage shreds anyone caught in the open — but buildings are barely scratched. One use each. An area-denial weapon against players, not a raid tool.
  • Loyal Wolf — a Mythic schematic grants a Bone Whistle. Blow it and a Loyal Wolf rises to fight at your side, hunting whatever attacks you. The infected and military never touch it — only other survivors can bring it down. One whistle, one wolf.
End-game rewardsAll three come from the top schematic tiers — EMP from Ultra Rare, the Designator and Loyal Wolf from Mythic. They're prestige pulls, not everyday gear.

Heist Gear

The keys and tools that open the map's biggest scores. Most are rare drops from the heavy military soldiers guarding high-tier monuments.

Vault DrillCrack a bank vault
Heist IntelExposes Scraptown Bank
Lab Access CardHospital Lab key
Military Cache KeyMilitary Cache key
Survivor Cache KeySurvivor Bunker key
  • Vault Drill — the drill that runs the vault-cracking minigame at a bank heist. Buyable at the Equipment Store or from a schematic; it can't mine or hit anything, so it's a pure heist tool.
  • Heist Intel — exposes the dormant Scraptown Bank. Reading it reveals the opportunity on the map; you still need a Vault Drill to crack the vault itself.
  • Lab Access Card / Military Cache Key / Survivor Cache Key — the entry keys for the Hospital Lab, Military Cache and Survivor Bunker heists. The Survivor Cache Key is a guaranteed drop from a horde's Brute.

For the heists these open, see Monuments & Puzzles.

Valuables

The high-value loot everyone's chasing. They don't do anything in your hands — they're pure cash, and the smart move is holding them for the right buyer.

Hold them for the boatThe Outpost only buys valuables in small, capped amounts. A hoard of gold bars pays off far better at the temporary Black Market Smuggler — hold your valuables until the boat is in.
