Outpost Vendors

The outpost is where scavenged loot turns into Cash — and where you spend it on weapons, meds, gear and more. Nine vendors buy and sell across every category, and prices shift dynamically with how much everyone else is buying and selling.

How Trading Works

Every trade goes through the outpost — the safe-zone hub where vendors set up shop. Walk up to a vendor, open their menu, and use the buy or sell tabs. You pay and receive carried Cash (the notes in your inventory), not your bank balance. To check current prices before you make the trip, open your phone (/phone) and tap the Market Info app.

Vendors are specialists: each one deals in specific categories. The Weapons Dealer stocks guns and ammo; the Medical Store handles meds and food; the Illegal Dealer is the only place to buy explosives or sell processed drugs. Knowing who handles what saves a lot of running around.

The Vendors

Nine traders cover every category of gear and goods. Here's who handles what:

Vendor Sells Buys from you
Weapons Dealer Firearms, ammunition, weapon attachments Weapons & accessories
Medical Store Medical supplies, food Medical items & food
Construction Store Deployables, electrical components, resources, farming supplies Resources & farm goods
Equipment Store Tools, general equipment, keycards Equipment & keycards
Illegal Dealer Explosives, drug ingredients (Poppy Seeds, Baking Soda) Drugs & processed illegal goods
Fishing Store Fishing gear, keycards Fishing items & keycards
Clothing Store Clothing, armor, utility items Clothing & armor
Vehicle Parts Vehicle components & modules Vehicle parts & modules
Casino Casino chips & games
Illegal Dealer is the only explosives sourceIf you want to raid, the Illegal Dealer is your only vendor option for explosives and the ingredient components. Other vendors won't stock them. Your reputation also needs to be high enough before certain items unlock — see the Vendor Reputation section below.

Dynamic Pricing

Vendor prices aren't fixed — they move with demand. The system re-checks every item's price roughly every 120 seconds and adjusts based on how much players have been buying or selling.

Each item has a baseline price. When lots of players sell the same thing, the sell price drops by roughly 5% per pressure tick — the market gets flooded and the vendor pays less. When demand is high and stock is low, prices tick back up by the same amount. The result is a live economy: move early on fresh loot, and you get the better rate.

Practical tip: sell in batches, not floodsDumping a huge stack all at once hammers the sell price down. If you're moving a lot of a single item, consider splitting runs — give the price time to recover between sells. The Market Info app on your phone lets you track current prices before you walk to the vendor.

Dynamic pricing affects sell rates more than buy rates. Buy prices from vendors are more stable; it's the cash-out side — selling your gathered goods — where you'll feel the swings. For high-volume earners like sheet metal and components, watch the price ticker before committing a large run. Sheet metal, for example, moves between roughly 80 and 120 Cash per unit around a 100 Cash baseline.

Vendor Reputation

Every trade you make builds vendor reputation, capped at 5,000. Higher reputation unlocks restricted items that you can't buy at low standing.

Reputation accumulates as you buy and sell across all vendors — you don't grind it per-vendor, it's a shared outpost standing. Most items in the shop need around 100 reputation before you can buy them, so your very first job at the outpost is trading enough to clear that threshold. The more you trade, the higher your rep, and the more of the catalogue opens up. Some higher-tier items, particularly certain explosives and late-game gear, are gated behind steeper rep thresholds, so early-wipe players won't have access to everything immediately.

Vendor won't sell to you?If an item appears in the vendor menu but won't complete when you try to buy it, your outpost reputation is too low. The fix is simple: keep trading. Every buy and sell adds rep — farming the Medical Store for food and meds early on is a fast way to build standing.
